SHARP GLOBAL Partners, Ltd. is approved by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to conduct C-TPAT validations in China.
Sharp Global Partners, Ltd., a US based security firm specializing in supply chain security and C-TPAT compliance, is proud to be part of this public private partnership to increase the safety of the US homeland.
/Apparel - Textile News Articles/ - NEW YORK, NY, July 20, 2007 - For the first time, a small group of 3rd party validators have been selected to assist the customs administration in conducting validations outside the United States. "SHARP GLOBAL has successfully demonstrated to the Department of Homeland Security and CBP that our comprehensive facility audit methodology, supply chain risk analysis, and threat awareness training programs in the China/Asia region are robust," stated Donna Sharp, President, Sharp Global Partners.
In this new age of global terrorism, there is an increased threat that a weapon of mass destruction could enter a supply chain while goods are in transit. The Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) program established by the U.S. government shortly after 9/11, asks private sector importers and intermediaries to establish and maintain internal procedures and secure their individual supply chains. Members of the C-TPAT program can become certified and subsequently validated for having security measures in place.
SHARP GLOBAL will utilize a specialized team of supply chain security inspectors throughout China to conduct these inspections. Inspectors work out of offices in Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Macau and Shenzhen. In the U.S. more than 7,000 companies are now members of the C-TPAT program. Other customs administrations around the world are considering similar security initiatives.
Improving security across the supply chain produces benefits for a company beyond security compliance. Firms are realizing increased supply chain efficiency and velocity, reduced theft and loss, strengthened security procedures, safer work environments, improved organizational performance and enhanced brand identity.
