Mary Catherine Dumas transitioned into the fashion industry from the Department of Defense


FORT WORTH, TX, November 11, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mary Catherine Dumas, Director of DCMS, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in business management.

As the director of DCMS, Ms. Dumas is responsible for distributing and selling custom fit brassieres for women of all ages, consulting on personal customized fitting, educating women on foundation and support, arranging shows and events at churches, homes and spas, handling marketing and advertising, overseeing sales and administrative functions, and managing finance and public relations. DCMS is a boutique that provides brassiere and other control garments for women. Ms. Dumas started as a GS1 with the Department of Defense and obtained a GS13 Supervisory Contract Specialist position prior to retirement after 34 years of service. She also returned to work as a contracted Contract Specialist post-Katrina for approximately two years with the Corps of Engineers projects in New Orleans, LA. She moved into retail because of her interest in fashion, and she attributes her success to her hard work and perseverance.

Ms. Dumas obtained her master of arts in professional development and leadership, and her bachelor's degree in business administration, both from Dallas Baptist University. She received her associate degree in business from National University in San Diego, California and is a certified mediator with the State of Texas. In the future, she intends to further develop her business.
