With 17 years in the retail industry, Darlene Joan Cherry is a noted authority on different types of fabric, needlework and sewing. She joined Hobby Lobby in 2008, bringing to the popular crafts chain previous experience at Toys"R"Us, where she worked for 15 years. As the head of the fabric and needlework department, Ms. Cherry is responsible for supervising staff, creating floor presentations, ordering merchandise, and ensuring professional customer service practices. Prior to venturing into retail, she taught home economics and adult education. Ms. Cherry attributes the success that she enjoyed in different fields to the wealth of knowledge that she gained in both these disciplines and to her hard work and conscientious application to the task at hand.

Ms. Cherry earned her Bachelor of Science in Home Economics in 1973 from Michigan State University. She enjoys traveling in her spare time.
